Dry stone walls offer a diverse range of wildlife that live on and amongst them. They have their own eco-system.
Lichens, mosses and ferns grow on the stone which attract a lot of insects.
Toads, shrews, mice, stoats and sometimes adders will live inside the walls.
Whilst out walling I have had the privilege of seeing deer, buzzards, kestrels and even a barn owl to name a few.
